Act now on sexual issues

Vivian Wong

Sex education has been ignored for a long time and it's time to consider the danger of not talk ing about it.

Most students mature early. Many of them start dating in school and are curious about sex. Some of them have sex and get into trouble.

There is a need for more pro grammes teaching the right at titude towards sex.

Parents should also be edu cated to take a look at their children's behaviour.

Most people in Hong Kong tend to be money-minded and most parents go to work, so they may have little time to care for their sons and daughters. This lack of care may lead chil dren into seeking unhealthy stimulation like dating when they are too young and even having pre-marital sex.

To prevent this problem from worsening, parents should also show they care.

Schools, parents and the Government should work to gether and talk about this issue. Then this unhealthy behaviour can be corrected.
