Electronic goods manufacturer Sino Foundations Holdings is changing its name to Sino InfoTech Holdings and developing high-technology products to boost its mainland operations.
The company will focus on developing hi-tech routers systems and Internet networking devices for the mainland market.
Executive director Jack Flader said the company invested 15 million yuan (about HK$13.98 million) last year in a Sino-foreign joint-venture company - Shenzhen SED Telecommunication Technology - to manufacture high-end technology products.
The company now owns 47.5 per cent of the firm, known as SED Teletech.
'We are confident with the venture and believe the routers will be a prime product of the company in the future,' Mr Flader said.
SED Teletech also entered into an agreement with California-based Cisco Systems earlier this year to transfer technology from Cisco's router networking systems to the Shenzhen company, Mr Flader said.
