Rodney McIntosh was elected as a director of the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union at last night's contentious annual general meeting, where it was revealed that rugby's financial reserves had depleted even further.
One would have thought that the clubs would have been satisfied at seeing McIntosh in - his election was inevitable. But instead, they wanted more.
A push, spearheaded by Valley yesterday, called for two directors on the HKRFU's 10-strong directorate to be replaced by club representatives.
A similar sentiment raised at last year's AGM was shot down as it had not been presented in the right manner and according to the etiquette required at such gatherings.
So 12 months down the line, Valley had carefully mapped out everything and chairman Toby Bland presented the notice of motion supporting this bid yesterday.
But once again the bid failed as HKRFU chairman Peter Duncan insisted that a sub-committee set up to look into this matter had not made any recommendation for change to the board of directors.
