A JAPANESE cultured pearl ring, a Ming Dynasty plate, an egg-shell porcelain lamp and a woollen suit made from Loro Piana fabric . . . these are the fabulous prizes that can be won in two competitions arranged by the Hongkong Hilton in conjunction with the hotel's 30th anniversary celebrations.
Details of both competitions are incorporated in this special anniversary feature.
The first involves correctly answering three questions from clues which appear on Pages 6 and 7.
The questions concern such diverse subjects as the number of cups of coffee that have been served at the Hongkong Hilton since 1963, the number of renovations the hotel has undergone in the same period of time, and a name you would give the hotel's Grill, should you have the opportunity to rename it.
The second competition, details of which are on Page 8, concerns the Hilton 30th Anniversary Challenge Cup, to be run at Sha Tin tomorrow.
Six well-known Hongkong celebrities provide their race selections and readers have the chance to follow their advice or select the horse they themselves think will win the cup race.
