Teen quit job to aid trafficker boyfriend
A teenager left her lucrative job as a karaoke public relations girl to help her boyfriend run a business packing millions of dollars worth of heroin, a court heard yesterday.
Chan Pui-sze, now 20, and her boyfriend, Lau Man-ho, 25, yesterday pleaded guilty in the Court of First Instance to drug trafficking.
The pair were stopped in a taxi on November 14 last year and Lau was found with a bag of heroin worth more than $1.6 million.
A subsequent search of their Sha Tin flat uncovered a further 5.8kg of heroin worth $3.7 million, and drug paraphernalia.
'All of [the seized items] are mine,' Lau told police upon his arrest.
His girlfriend was also charged with trafficking in 5.8kg of drugs after forensic experts found traces of heroin in her fingernails.
Six months earlier, responding to a burglary call, police made a routine check at the couple's previous home in Tuen Mun, where they found drug paraphernalia and nearly 6kg of 'ice' and 773 grams of heroin.
