United Parcel Service (UPS) and Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) are developing the world's first digital-delivery solution for sending and tracking paper-based documents over the Internet.
Under the deal, the companies will bring UPS Document Exchange, the first trackable, secure delivery service for digital documents, and the HP 9100C Digital Sender, which electronically sends physical documents in a single step, together.
'In today's hyperspeed business environment, secure, efficient and streamlined communications are key,' said Dale Hayes, UPS vice-president of e-commerce marketing.
He said the natural combination of this seamlessly integrated paper-based information and electronic messaging was the closest one could get for safe and immediate document delivery.
John Stedman, senior vice-president and general manager of HP's appliance and scanner business unit, said it made good business sense for the two companies to market two of their revolutionary products to help customers with simplified communications.
The HP 9100C Digital Sender allows companies to deliver high-quality, paper-based documents electronically - in monochrome or colour.
