DBS science duo top the A-levels list
Diocesan Boys' School stole the limelight as two of its students obtained the most outstanding results in this year's Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination. Hubert Chan Tsz-hong, 19, and Chan Yiu-hon, 18, who were in the same class, both scored six As.
Tsz-hong scored straight A(1)s in Pure Mathematics, Use of English[AS], Chinese Language and Culture[AS], Chemistry[AS] and Applied Mathematics [AS] and an A(2) in Physics.
Yiu-hon obtained A(1)s in Pure Mathematics, Physics, Use of English[AS], Chinese Language and Culture[AS], Chemistry[AS] and Applied Mathematics[AS].
The two scholars attributed their success to paying attention in class, doing revision at home and preparing for lessons in advance.
Both of them scored eight As in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination.
Tsz-hong said he spent three to four hours a day on revision. 'I don't think I work much harder than others but I love to read. I enjoy studying.' For relaxation, Tsz-hong listened to music. 'I love all kinds of music, especially folk, new age and jazz. I can concentrate better when I study if there is some background music,' he said.
He was a librarian after school and the editor of a school publication last year.
