THE Government has told Police Commissioner Mr Li Kwan-ha to put up, or shut up, over his controversial insistence on keeping the No. 1 licence plate. Outgoing Secretary for the Treasury Mr Yeung Kai-yin revealed top officials had written to Mr Li, demanding an explanation of his stance on the issue. ''He will have to face the music,'' Mr Yeung said. ''We are waiting for him to come back with a considered view.'' His comments came amid strong indications the Government was set to over-rule Mr Li's objections, and strip him of the No. 1 car plate.
