Three men have been sentenced to death in Guizhou province's first kidnapping case. Pan Nianmei, Yang Tongyou and Luo Lin were convicted of forcing women into prostitution. Nine other people in the sex ring were sentenced to jail for various terms. According to the China Youth Daily, more than 50 women were kidnapped nationwide by the gang and forced into prostitution. The 12 kidnappers would sign up women to work in factories and then trick them into going to Guangdong province. The kidnappers then took away the women's identification papers and forced them into prostitution. Some of the women were also lured to Guangdong province by others who had become prostitutes. They would return to their hometowns and deceive friends and relatives into joining them in Guangdong.
