Hong Kong True Light College celebrated teachers' day in style by staging a paper fashion design competition at the same time.

 It was an overwhelming success.

  The fashion competition was titled 'Colourful Designs, Colourful Costumes of Ancient Chinese Celebrities'.

  It has been a tradition for our school to hold a teachers' day every year after the final examinations.

  The aim is to show our respect and gratitude to our teachers for a year of patient teaching and guidance.

  Teachers and students flooded the school hall as music was broadcast. The host gave a welcoming speech and a series of fun and entertaining games began.

  Everyone watched in excitement as teachers and students competed in various games.

  The games gave students and teachers an opportunity to develop team spirit.

  Preparation for the fashion show started weeks ago.

  Designers put the finishing touches to their colourful paper costumes the day before the performance.

  The fashion show featured nine student models.

  All the costumes were made out of paper and were designed and tailored by the students themselves. The fashion show began after the games.

  Models walked down the main aisle of the school hall displaying their creative costumes.

  The designers explained the features of the costumes and the historical background of ancient Chinese celebrities such as Cixi, Pan Jinlian and Yang Guifei.

  The fashion show was not only for entertainment but also a chance for students to display their creativity, artistic talents and team spirit.

  Can you imagine the deluxe costumes of Empress Dowager Cixi being made from waste paper?   How versatile and imaginative our students are! Their design won them the best costume prize.

  The presentation of prizes was followed by a melodious guitar solo, which enthralled the audience and added zest to the day.

 The most touching part of the day was the presentation of gifts made by students to our teachers and principal.

  They were not only valuable gifts which expressed our gratitude towards our principal and teachers, but they were also promises of hard work in the coming year.

 The day ended on a high note with thunderous applause from the audience.
