A controversial, unofficial Web site for Cathay Pacific crew acted yesterday to bar the public from its online discussions.

The site's editor, who the South China Morning Post revealed had left Cathay after airline bosses found he had published secret information, has set up a password system to curb access.

Computer users must now enter a code, based on a telephone number used by Cathay crew, to enter the online forum to find out when they are rostered to work.

In recent days, many postings in the cabin crews' forum have been critical of the editor, with some accusing him of censorship and others saying he got his just deserts when he left his job.
