I refer to the letter from Rosanna Hon, Marketing Director, of Nike Hong Kong headlined, 'Action on sale items policy', which appeared in the South China Morning Post, on July 27.
The letter implies that there was some confusion on my part when I made my purchase.
On the contrary, I was aware after I made my purchase that there was no exchange for sale items.
However I bought the wrong size in error and I mistakenly assumed that in the interests of customer satisfaction Nike would allow me to wear a shirt that actually fits.
I question whether rigidly adhering to a policy to the detriment of sales and goodwill is sound business practice.
I suggest Nike learns from retailers such as Giordano and Bossini who do their utmost to assist customers whether an item is in a sale or not.
