With the banning of the Pope's proposed visit to the SAR, both the Beijing and Hong Kong governments have reached the highest point of embarrassment.

It also provokes further anxiety among the international community living in Hong Kong regardless of individuals' religious beliefs.

For the Catholics it just deepens our sorrow and reminds us of the persecution endured by our fellow Catholics in the mainland.

There is still time for both governments to correct this mistake and allow the Pope to come. Otherwise, Beijing will be accused of undermining Hong Kong's autonomy.
