General manager Joseph Poon said Radio Republic was a platform for the public and a marketing tool for commercial organisations.
Targeted at people and advertisers interested in Hong Kong, it features 27 channels grouped under music, politics, current affairs and lifestyle.
'We aim to offer content that is a bit alternative,' Mr Poon said.
Hosts will also include religious and environmental groups.
