Mui Suet-ying, Yu Kwong- wah, Ann Wong and Lau Ming- hing - all scholarship winners from the Sports Development Board (SDB) - obtained satisfactory results in this year's Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE).

Wushu star Suet-ying is one of eight students who scored a distinction in Physical Education.

She also gained another distinction and four credits in the remaining subjects.

Shuttler Kwong-wah and swimmer Ann each obtained one distinction and one credit, while windsurfer Ming-hing scored five credits.

According to the SDB, 57 per cent of its scholarship athletes had obtained five passes or above in the HKCEE.

In 1995, the SDB had commissioned the Physical Education and Sport Science Unit of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) to study the relationship between sports and academic performance.
