The Hong Kong Teenage Bands Competition, in its third year, was organised by The Warehouse Teenage Club. Ten out of 25 bands were selected to compete in the final.

Sandy Chan Man-yee, the club's Arts In Education senior programme officer, said it was hoped the contest would promote local, original teenage band music and make the public more receptive of youth bands.

'The competition gives young people a chance to express themselves by playing music,' Ms Chan said.

Each band was required to play two songs in the final. The bands performed a total of 15 original songs and five cover versions.
