Canadian police have confirmed they are investigating a large immigration consultancy that is believed to have used a 'secret diplomatic contact' in Hong Kong to fast-track immigration applications.

A spokesman did not give any details about the company.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have been quietly investigating an alleged security breach by locally employed staff, said to be linked to triads, at Canada's consulate in Hong Kong.
An estimated 788 computer files containing sensitive background information on criminals and businessmen wanting to emigrate to Canada were allegedly deleted. In addition, the police are probing the alleged disappearance of more than 2,000 blank visa forms.
