Fast-food fat survey

The amount of fat and sodium in a McDonald's burger depends on where in the world it is bought, the study says.

Compared with Hong Kong, sodium content is lower in burgers bought in Iceland and Britain, but higher in those bought in Switzerland. Fat content is lowest in France, Germany and the UK. French fries are also not standardised across the world. Fat content is much lower in Belgium and Finland - only 25 to 29 per cent - compared with more than 40 per cent in Hong Kong, France, Germany and Iceland. But sodium levels in Iceland are higher than almost anywhere else.

McDonald's declined to comment specifically on the survey's findings.
