Parked cars were damaged by falling trees and debris as the No 10 signal was hoisted for the first time since 1991 at 12.30pm.
About 50 passengers were stranded at the airport on Taipa after cancellations and delays affected all flights.
The Macau-Hong Kong helicopter service was suspended in the early hours. At 8am yesterday jetfoil services halted. Bus services stopped at 7am.
