More than 150 fields involving 800 farmers were affected, and 524 farmers have applied for urgent financial aid from the Agricultural and Fisheries Department.

Some 400 fish farms were hit with 189 reporting serious damage caused.

Relief funds will be granted with the maximum payout between $7,000 and $10,000.

Prices have remained high since Typhoon Sam hit the SAR last month and supplies will be restricted further.

Vegetable Marketing Organisation senior manager Kwok Kam-man said damage to vegetables was less than last month as the rain had been lighter.
