A nine-year-old girl was saved by police when her suicidal mother threatened to throw her out of a window in their 30th-floor flat in Tsz Wan Shan yesterday. Officers were called to Pak Yuen House, Chuk Yuen North Estate, at 9.30am when a neighbour reported the girl and woman were locked in a bedroom. 'The girl cried for help, saying her mother wanted to throw her out of a window,' a police spokesman said. 'Officers broke into the bedroom, rescued the girl and restrained her mother.' The woman told police she wanted to kill herself and her daughter as her husband had visited his mainland mistress and not returned. The woman and child were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where the girl was discharged after a check-up and her mother remained under observation. The girl was being looked after by her uncle.
