The Jesus Is Lord Church originated in the Philippines and reached Hong Kong 14 years ago. Most members of the evangelical group, believed to be largest of its kind in Hong Kong, are domestic helpers.

They hold Sunday church meetings in Kowloon Tong, Discovery Bay and North Point. Its mother church in Manila is led by Eddie Villanueva and claims three million followers. It is the fiercest rival for souls to Mariano 'Mike' Velarde's El Shaddai movement, which claims to have six million members.
