Equipment supplier Kalmar has signed a deal to supply and maintain container-handling equipment for the newly formed Hamina Multimodal Terminals (HMT) in Finland.
The contract includes five Sisu 4231-5TL reachstackers for yard operations and seven Sisu TR 161 terminal tractors for port transport.
HMT has options to purchase three additional reachstackers and six terminal tractors in the future.
Kalmar will also establish a servicing base at Hamina container terminal, providing maintenance and repair services under a five-year rolling contract, a new and fast-growing business segment for Kalmar.
Kalmar will provide HMT, a joint venture between the Town of Hamina, Sea-Land Terminals Management and Hamina Port Terminals, with support to commence and maintain operations quickly and effectively.
