Local institutes offering medical courses University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Medicine Requirements: Selection for admission is primarily based on exam results, but other factors may also be considered, such as performance shown in interviews. Students should have grade E or above in either two A-level subjects or one A-level and two AS-levels of which one must be chemistry and the rest must be from the following: physics, biology, pure mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics.

For admission in 2000-2001, candidates should get grade E or above in either three A-level subjects or the equivalent of six AS-level subjects in either of the following combinations: (I) chemistry; and the remainder from the following: physics, biology, pure mathematics, applied mathematics and mathematics and statistics; or (II) chemistry; the remainder from physics, biology, pure mathematics applied mathematics, and mathematics and statistics; and any subject equivalent to two AS-level subjects.

Format: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, which last for ten terms spread over five years.

They should have grade E in at least five A-level subjects including AS-level Chinese language and use of English. The other three subjects must include A-level chemistry and any two science subjects at A-level or AS-level.
