A DRIVER used a knife to attack a man whom he owed thousands of dollars, during an arranged meeting.

Poon Wai-man, 23, was found guilty in the District Court of wounding with intent.
Prosecuting counsel Mr Chu Tat said the victim, Mr Poon Ching-chung, 30, now the owner of a tea pantry at a police staff quarters, came to know the defendant in 1986.
The defendant borrowed a total of $50,000 from the victim between 1988 and last year, the court was told.
Although the defendant still owed the victim $45,000, he asked for another loan of $20,000 on March 12, last year.

The victim agreed after the defendant told him he would settle the debt if his business made a good profit.
