Written and directed by Taiwan's Sylvia Chang Ai-chia, Tempting Heart is a story about a timeless first love. Sheo-rou (Gigi Leung Wing- kei) and Chen-li (Karen Mok Man-wai) are best friends who begin to explore love together. They are both attracted to Ho- chuen (Takeshi Kaneshiro), who falls in love with Sheo-rou. After a short period of sweet romance, the two are forced apart by their families and other circumstances. Ten years later, they meet again. Ho-chuen proposes marriage, but Sheo-rou declines because she knows their love can only be kept alive in the memory of what once was. Now showing at AMC Festival Walk, UA Times Square and New York, and on the Broadway and GV circuits. In an interview with South China Morning Post, Chang said the story was based on her own life. 'It could be my story, or it could be many people's,' she said. 'I enjoy looking at young people in love. In fact, I encourage young people to fall in love because I think they are at their purest. When you are young and in love, you put all your energy into it.' Captain Elizabeth Campbell (Leslie Stefanson) is the daugh ter of General Campbell (James Cromwell). One day she is found murdered and staked to the ground with tent pegs. In the army's world, nobody asks and nobody tells. When warrant officer Paul Brenner (John Travolta) is assigned to investigate the murder, he uncovers a scandal of immense proportions. The General's Daughter opens today on the GV and UA circuits, and at New York, Majestic, AMC Festival Walk, Chinachem, Tuen Mun, Broadway Kwai Fong and Tsuen Wan and JP Causeway Bay.
