A woman falsely reported having been raped by a friend to avoid angering her boyfriend after a tiff, a court heard yesterday. Magistrate Ian Candy said Kong Siu-kwan, 24, had been foolish and unaware of the seriousness of her actions. Kong, unemployed, with a son aged one, had argued with her jobless boyfriend on June 27 at the couple's home in Wan Chai. The woman, who pleaded guilty to making the false claim, called the police 30 minutes later claiming she had been raped by a man during a visit to his home, Eastern Court was told. Soon after police began investigating, Kong confessed. She was put on probation for 12 months and ordered to pay $500 costs.
