General entrance requirements for undergraduate programmes Applicants must obtain at least grade E in two A-level subjects or E in one A-level plus two AS-level subjects (excluding AS-level Use of English and Chinese Language and Culture). To meet English language requirements, applicants should have one of the following: E in A-level Use of English; E in A-level English Literature; C in General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) English Language; Grade 3 in the Joint Matriculation Board University Test in English; score 550 in Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or score 7 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). To meet Chinese language requirements, applicant should have one of the following: E in AS-level Chinese Language and Culture; E in A-level Chinese Language and Literature or Chinese Literature; C in a language other than Chinese or English in the HKCEE or GCSE. Applicants with qualifications obtained outside the A-level system must hold a full European or International Baccalaureate Diploma; or complete primary and secondary education to Grade 13; or hold equivalent qualifications. In addition to the general entrance requirements, applicants must also meet the specific entrance requirements for their degree programme. General entrance requirements for higher diploma/diploma programmes For full-time study, applicants should meet the general requirements of obtaining grade E in five HKCEE subjects; or C in five GCSE subjects (may include HKCEE Chinese, HKCEE or GCSE English or other language subjects). To meet English language requirements, applicants should obtain E in HKCEE English Language (Syllabus B); or C in HKCEE English Language (Syllabus A); or C in GCSE English Language. To meet Chinese language requirements, applicants should obtain E in HKCEE Chinese Language; or E in a language other than Chinese or English in the HKCEE; or C in a language other than Chinese or English in the GCSE. For part-time study programmes, applicants should meet the general requirement of obtaining E in five HKCEE subjects or C in five GCSE subjects (may include HKCEE Chinese, HKCEE or GCSE English or other language subjects). The English and Chinese language requirements for those applying to undertake part-time study programmes are the same as those for full-time study.
