Father's suicide wish

The father of Lee Wing-sze contemplated suicide because he could not stand living without his only child.

An angry Lee Chi-lui, 37, described the sentence as too lenient and vowed that if he ever had more children he would not trust a minder.

The factory worker had placed Wing-sze in other people's care because his wife had deserted the family.

Wong Siu-wai, at whose hands the girl died, was the third nanny in less than two months.

Mr Lee last saw his daughter on Sunday, September 6, last year. Wing-sze's body was dumped the following Friday.

'I never thought that I would not see her again,' Mr Lee said yesterday.
