Three men accused of conspiracy to defraud in an alleged piling scam at a construction site at the Tung Chung Station development appeared in court yesterday.
Tsuen Wan Court heard the three conspired with an unknown person to defraud the Buildings Department and the developer of the Tung Chung Station project.
Pilings shorter than the Building Department's required length were laid down and the trio was alleged to have attempted to conceal this, the court heard.
The three are Li Che-hing, 51, a former employee of the piling contractor I-P Foundations, site agent Ko Chi-kwong, 43, and site engineer Yu Chun-man, 29.
No pleas were taken, they were granted bail and the case was adjourned until November 5 by magistrate Peter White.
