LADIES - can you tell us your weight? And what sort of shape you are in? And what is your favourite part of your body? If these questions sound familiar to some, it is because they are the sort of queries a number of women have been asked over the telephone by a man falsely claiming to work for health club chain Phillip Wain. According to a Phillip Wain spokeswoman: ''He said he was working for us and was taking a survey and started asking questions. ''First, the questions appeared to be reasonable, but then they got more personal, inquiring about the woman's weight, the shape of her body, and her body parts. ''It was not obscene or really insulting or anything, but they were . . . none of his business.'' Phillip Wain has received complaints from enraged women who have received the calls. Most are members, prompting fears the man has access to a membership list. The spokeswoman said a circular was immediately stapled to notice boards at all four gyms, warning women about the pest. ''We have told them this man is in no way associated with our club. We do not operate in that way,'' she said. ''The only men we have working for our company are club owner Mr Eddie Phillips and Mr Barry Wain, his partner. The messenger and the accountant do not have access to our clients' records.''
