Personality not sex vital in business

GENDER does not matter in business. At least that is the view of Ms Florence Chan Chow Yuen-yee, the first woman director of World International Development.

She said management style was dependent on personality rather than sex.

Ms Chan's company, which she joined in 1984, is the property development arm of World International (Holdings).

Ms Chan has helped to establish audit standards on project costs, and formulate property development procedures, process and strategy for the group.

She deals with matters related to land acquisition and joint-venture negotiations in the commercial and planning Department.

She saw her tasks as being similar to those of a property developer.
