Norasia is aiming to strengthen its position in the Pacific with the start of a new trans-Pacific service between Yantian and Hong Kong and Long Beach port in California from December 4.
The service with a 12-day transit time will be served with four newly built and state-of-the-art container ships with a speed of 25 knots.
Inchcape Shipping Services has been confirmed as Norasia's agent in North America and a dedicated core team has been set up with key representatives to handle the business from Norasia's three services to the continent.
The new service follows the carrier's earlier APX service in the Pacific northwest in May which established a record seven-day transit crossing the Pacific and set a new benchmark in serving Hong Kong to Vancouver in just over 10 days.
Norasia, which plans to restructure its management and agency in the United States and Canada, has appointed Andy Russell as head of its activities in North America.
Mr Russell will retain his present responsibilities with Norasia China until a suitable successor has been appointed.
