The Chief Executive's Council of International Advisers will hold its second meeting on Wednesday.

The advisers include Paul Volcker, ex-head of the Federal Reserve, Siemens boss Karl-Hermann Baumann, Motorola chief Christopher Galvin and Sir William Purves, HSBC Holdings ex-chairman.

A government spokesman said the business experts were best placed to advise on global and regional development trends affecting Hong Kong.

'Such advice is most timely as we are charting a new course for the new millennium,' the spokesman said.
