ATV'S majority shareholders have launched a damages action over alleged breaches of agreement by tycoon Lim Por-yen. Dragon Viceroy and Rankon are also seeking an injunction to restrain the actions of Mr Lim, 84, the chairman of the Lai Sun Group. The High Court writ was filed nine days after Mr Lim lodged a case seeking $93.6 million from Asia Television. Dragon Viceroy and Rankon, holders of 51 per cent of shares in ATV, want an order restraining Mr Lim from 'repeated or continuing' breaches of two agreements sealed in April and June last year. They also seek damages for breaches of the sale and purchase agreement and the shareholder agreement between the two companies, Mr Lim and others.
