$10,000 fine for low-weight 'catty'

Dried seafood company Wah Fung Medicine (Group) was fined the maximum $10,000 for selling a batch of underweight preserved scallops to undercover Customs officers.

The fine was imposed at Western Court after it sold a catty of scallops for $320 that was 17 per cent less than the weight claimed on May 13.
