CAN'T go anywhere in this town these days without hearing about Le French May - the mega-cultural fest being staged in locations all over town by the French community, with Consul-General Laurent Aublin dashing around with a pair of scissors snipping ribbons like a man possessed.
By now we've all seen or heard about the splendid Rodin show at the Cultural Centre. But how about his mistress (or ''student'' as Rodin claimed!) - Camille Claudel? A sculptor in her own right, she produced nearly 200 sculptures. And 15 pieces of her work all bearing her signature are not only on display at the French Consulate but some will be put up for sale after the exhibition.
Mme Reine Marie Paris, grand-niece of Claudel, has accompanied the family treasures and will be on hand to entertain any offers. Anyone interested can contact 529 4358.
