Kung fu star Jackie Chan broke his silence about his romance with former Miss Asia Elaine Ng Yi-lei, who is seven months pregnant. Speaking at a press conference, Chan described it as a 'playful act' with 'shameful' consequences.
Chan gave only a brief statement, saying he had done something wrong that many men had done. He said if the child turned out to be his, he would act responsibly.
He said it was a personal matter and pleaded with the media to leave his family and his 90- year-old father alone.
He refused to answer questions, saying that 'sharp questions' would provoke him to use bad language.
Keen fans of singer Andy Lau Tak-wah flew into Tokyo, Japan, to attend his concerts. Lau said he was touched and impressed when fans from the mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan sang along with him.
As Lau did not know much Japanese, he mainly spoke Putonghua during the concert.
