Company hunts for talent to host television show
Auditions were held yesterday for hosts of a Disney television programme due to start early next year.
'We are looking for a talented television host who knows Hong Kong and Disney well,' said Jon Niermann, Walt Disney vice-president of marketing.
'And we are trying to get a local band to be in our show.' Among the candidates was Ackerman Wong, 29, a freelance database developer from North Carolina in the United States.
'I just stopped by and found out about the audition as I am a big fan of Disney, so I thought I'd just give it a shot,' he said at the auditions in Times Square, Causeway Bay.
Trainee solicitor Janice Kwan Long-tin, 26, said she found it hard to resist the Disney magic.
'A friend of mine e-mailed me about the audition, so I want to give it a try. I just love Disney,' she said.
ATV weather reporter Donna Ng Wai-ming said she hoped her presenting skills would make her a good host.
