LIKE so many others, I was appalled by the comments of Mr Kenneth Ting Woo-shou, managing director of Kader Holdings, the owner of the toy factory which burnt down a week last Monday outside Bangkok.
''Mr Ting sends condolences to the families of the dead.
''After we have considered the report we will decide when and if it is suitable to travel to Bangkok.'' If Mr Ting cared for the people whom he employed under what are reported to be dangerously unsafe conditions, he would already be in Bangkok sifting through the rubble, leading the effort to ascertain how this tragedy could possibly have happened.

Instead he remains in Hongkong.
This is a shameful indictment of Hongkong's business community.
