Hong Kong movie actress Pauline Chan Po-lin gave a woman police officer two black eyes and a bloody nose after officers were called to a hotel where she had been abusing staff after getting drunk. Chan, 26, pleaded guilty in court yesterday to being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer. The court heard police were called to the Holiday Inn in Cromwell Road, West London, by staff who complained Chan was drunk and being abusive on the night of November 28. She was taken to a police station in nearby Earl's Court but refused to leave the police van and punched, slapped and kicked an officer. Chan first appeared in court on November 30 when she sacked her lawyer and was remanded in North London's Holloway Prison. Magistrate Jeffrey Wickes yesterday ordered the actress to pay fines of GBP550 (HK$6,850) and GBP100 compensation to the officer. Chan, wearing a scruffy black coat, described herself as a tourist. The actress was met outside court by her mother and driven away in a black limousine.
