BUILDING contractors have been warned that it is their statutory obligation to provide safe scaffolding and working platforms for workers. Breaches could incur a maximum penalty 12 months' jail and a $50,000 fine, a Labour Department spokesman said yesterday in the wake of a scaffolding accident yesterday when three workers were hurt.
