Unknown American Fran Quinn sank two monster putts for a seven-under-par 65 to take the Omega PGA Championship by three strokes at Mission Hills.

With a fat cheque of US$80,700 in his back pocket, Quinn had the biggest payday of his career yesterday as he completed back-to-back victories after his Thailand Open success last week.

'I'm speechless. It's just been a heck of a week,' said Quinn, who also had a hole-in-one in Friday's play to make his trip to the US$500,000 event in Shenzhen truly memorable.

'It's been quite an experience. I played just fantastic golf. I had a great front nine. All my birdies were set up and I had two monster putts on the 15th and 17th. I had a wonderful tee-shot on the 18th hole and that was probably the best tee-shot I had all week.' Quinn's four-round total of 270 was three ahead of Scotland's Simon Yates, who shot a closing round 68, while American Eric Meeks and South African Nico van Rensburg were both tied for third after carding a 69 and 70 respectively.

Felix Casas, of the Philippines, who was the joint overnight leader with Van Rensburg, again suffered closing round jitters when he carded a 71 to finish in fifth position.

But the day - and week - belonged to Quinn, whose double bogey on the 13th hole spoilt what could have been a perfect round at the Jack Nicklaus-designed World Cup course.
