Like most of our peers in Hong Kong, we knew about English weeks and thought they were extremely uninteresting as we had to speak English and play dull games.

But we were surprised by the activities prepared by our English teachers and the English Club. Students enthusiastically took part in all kinds of fascinating English games.

The English teachers decided to start the week with an English drama competition.

All the classes were given the same script, which they then had to present at a school assembly. Students at first thought that numerous identical scenes and dialogues would be boring. But we were proved utterly wrong. Each presentation was full of excitement. Each class had its own interpretation and adaptation. The drama provided students with opportunities for creativity and co-operation.

'This is beyond all my expectations,' principal Lawrence Yu said.
