Brains were tickled at the Operation Santa Claus quiz that raised $100,000 for blind children in Hong Kong and on the mainland.

The quiz, entitled 'There's No Such Thing As A Free Lunch', stretched the minds of the six competitors, but also brought plenty of laughs. It was organised by RTHK at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. This year's winners were Merrill Lynch entrants Adrian Faure and Richard Hurst. Other entrants were last year's winners, Jill Kluge of the Mandarin Oriental Group and Nick Hunsworth of Johnson, Stokes & Masters, and Jill Dodwell-Groves of Jardines Matheson and John Snelgrove of Axa China Regional.

RTHK's Natalie Haughton fired questions as the crowd fired themselves up in true Christmas spirit.

'It was a very light-hearted and fun quiz,' she said. Thanks to the Ritz-Carlton for providing the Chater Room and for refreshments, and also to Remy for the drinks.

The Hong Kong Blind Union will use money raised by the appeal to fund educational services for visually impaired children.
