After much planning and effort, the English Corner at Hong Kong Taoist Association's The Yuen Yuen Institute No 3 Secondary School in Tseung Kwan O was finally opened.
A special ceremony was held to mark the occasion. Teachers gathered on stage during morning assembly. The ceremony was hosted by Ms Ko, head of the English panel.
Ms Ko said the corner was a good way for students to improve their English. 'It will give students more opportunity to practise their English. There are books to read, games to play, VCDs to watch, songs to listen to and teachers to talk to.' A computer will also be installed at the corner.
The principal took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and delightful music added colour to the event.
Each teacher was presented with a rose by the students as a token of appreciation for their efforts in setting up the English Corner.
