IT competition set to boost job prospects for fresh graduates
An information technology (IT) and marketing competition will help graduating university students secure jobs in the telecommunications industry.
The Enabler 21 programme, jointly organised by telecommunications giants Hutchison Telecom and Motorola, aims to stimulate the creativity of university students and offer them career opportunities.
It will help to train the SAR's top professionals to cope with the rapid development of the industry in the 21st century.
Stephen Ngan Kim-ying, Hutchison Telecom's director for sales and marketing (wireless), said the programme would enable fresh graduates to contribute to the latest developments in IT and telecommunications.
'This project will not only give them the opportunity to learn more about the telecommunications in dustry in Hong Kong and worldwide, it will also equip them with the necessary knowledge to apply the advanced technology into business development projects,' Mr Ngan said.
Graduates will attend seminars focusing on the impact of telecommunications in various areas.
There will be workshops on portal Web site design, WAP (Wireless Application Protocal) through mobile phone services, market development, marketing communications and customer services.
