School's 10th anniversary triggers nostalgia and hope among audience

Nostalgia for the past and hope for the future mingled at the prize-giving day of Tin Shui Wai Government Secondary School. The occasion also marked the school's 10th anniversary.

Principal Doris Mak welcomed former principals, vice- principals and teachers who arrived to show their affection and support for the school.

Four staff members, including teachers and ancillary staff, were presented with awards for 10 years of service.

Miss Mak said co-operation among teaching, library and other staff was one of the factors which contributed to the school's success and happy atmosphere.

She also expressed pride in the students' academic, sporting and extra-curricular achievements and looked forward to further progress in the future.

This hope was shared by guest speaker Dr Chan Ka-ki, chief executive of the Curriculum Development Institute.

Dr Chan told students that to face up to the challenges of the new century and to succeed, they would need to update their knowledge and skills.
