A jobless man who claimed to get excitement from throwing things out of windows when drunk was jailed for six months yesterday.

'Had you suffered from some mental illness, there might have been a reason for your behaviour, but you do not,' Eastern Court Magistrate Ian Candy said.

Wan Man-tan, 49, pleaded guilty to one count of allowing an object to fall from a height. His guilty plea earned him his sixth similar conviction.

The court heard he had already served a total of four months in prison for his five previous offences in 1997.

Wan, who represented himself, chose not to say anything during the hearing.

But Mr Candy read out a psychiatric report in which Wan stated he found enjoyment in lobbing objects from high buildings.
