My English improved a lot after I started going on ICQ. However, my parents were worried that I would meet some bad people so they cut off my Internet access.
I never blamed them because I understand they care about me. I am young and gullible and they are especially worried because I am a girl.
I only had one ICQ friend because I did not want to over-indulge in ICQ. I was lucky because the boy was mature and taught me a lot of things. There is nothing wrong with ICQ as long as we do not over-indulge in it.
Youths should not chat with every stranger they come across but rather, select the interesting ones who live in other countries so they can learn about another culture.
I have become penpals with my ICQ friend. Young people should do meaningful things and take part in different activities to broaden their horizons instead of over-indulging in ICQ.
